MedErr chooses Charleston
Staff reports
A startup company
that is developing software to
reduce medical errors has chosen
Charleston as its headquarters.
MedErr DataApplication Ltd.
plans to release its software,
known as eAppliedData, early
this year.
Company founder William Hoyes
said the software, along with
cooperation from the medical
industry, could become the
world's first standardized
prevention against what he
called a "serious national
health care embarrassment."
"Millions of medical errors
happen each year at an annual
cost of 92,000 lives and an
increased health care expense of
up to $50 billion," said Hoyes,
MedErr DataApplication Ltd. chief executive.
MedErr DataApplication Ltd. board members include
Orangeburg surgeon Randolph
Smoak, a former president of the
American Medical Association and
past chairman of the World
Medical Association. |
